Mom used to make this when we were kids....and then take it off to a fancy adult party.
Crust:
1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 stick butter
1/4 c. sugar
Melt butter, mix with sugar and graham cracker crumbs. Press down into bottom of springofmr pan. Chill.
Cake:
3 pkgs. 8 oz. cream cheese
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/8 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
4 eggs
Let cream cheese soften. Blend in sugar, salt and beat till fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Beat in vanilla. Pour into crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Should be firm in center when done. Let stand 15 min. to cool.
Topping:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
2 c. sour cream
2 t. vanilla
1/4 c. sugar
Mix ingredients. Spread over cooled cheesecake. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees.
You can add fruit or other toppings, if desired.
