Bruya Chocolate Chip Cookies

I've never thought of myself as having cookie making secrets, however a few friends have recently asked me how I make such good cookies...always. So here is a typical recipe along with a few of my secret tips.

Using a stand mixer, slowly combine 1 ingredient at a time:
1 c. (2 sticks) butter (soften 5-10 minutes)
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. light brown sugar
2 t. vanilla
2 eggs

Combine & slowly add a little at a time:
2 1/4 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt

Add:
2 c. chocolate chips

375 degrees 9-11 minutes. If cookies are flat & run, add a little more flour (I add 1/16 cup, if it still runs add another 1/16 cup, etc.). If you soften the butter too long the dough sometimes runs.
